All faces of a cube with 8m edge are painted red.if cube is cut into smaller cubes of 2m edge,how many of the 2m edge have paint on exactly on one face?

• after we cut into 2cm smaller cube we have 16 faces each side.
  small cube on edge have 2 colored faces.
  so total 12 faces have 2 color on each side.
  thus only 4 faces have 1 color on each side.
  as all the side are colored total side=6
  no of only 1colored faces= 6*4=24

  well reema on nextstep.tcs answer given as 48 as you say.
  but according to me 24 is the correct solution. and you can
  verify as in my above expl..
  
  as we cut the 8m cube into 2m small cube -there are total 64
  small cubes.out which 8 are with no color.all the small cube
  which are on edge have 2 colored face.32 such faces are thr.
  as i expl above there are 24 1 colored face.
  8+32+24=64 cubes. so i think 24 is correct answer.

  because cube has 6 faces and each face has 4 cubes painted as 1 side red..so 6*4=24

  in these faces only 4 faces which are not adjacent to main cube edges have only one side painted

• its simple dude..
  if cube is cut into smaller cubes of 2m edge
  then on each face there will be 8 2m cubes(imagine) that
  are colored on one face..the remaining are colored
  twice or not colored. got it.
