3 white chips, 7 blue chips, 16 green chips, 2 chips drawn from the box in succession what is the probability that one is blue and other is white?
a) 7/50 b) 8/30 c) 7/25 d) 20/26
Read Solution (Total 10)
-
- 7/26 * 3/25....because here succession is written therefore after selecting first chip only 25 chips are left.

- no of ways that 2 chips selected from total of 26 is 26C2=26*25/2=13*25
no of ways that 1 white and 1 blue is selected is 3C1*7C1=21
total probability=21/13*25 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(51) No(22)
- for getting 1st ball blue and 2nd ball white probability=7/26*3/25
similarly,for getting 1st ball white and 2nd ball blue probability=3/26*7/25
therefore reqd. probability=(7/26*3/25)+(3/26*7/25)=21/(13*25) - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(25) No(4)
- No options are correct.... right ans is =(3C1 * 7C1)/26C2 = 21/(13*25).
- 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(14) No(11)
- for selecting 1 blue=7C1
for selecting 1 white=3C1
total no. of selection 26C2
ans= (7C1x3C1)/26C2 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(9)
- hay guys see this example
i have one blue chip and one red chip what is the probability to take one red and one blue chip?
see the solution :
as you consider DOLA answer it should be :
1/2*1/1=1/2---its not 100% correct:
the answer is :
no of ways to select two balls n(s)=2c2=1;
no of ways to select one red and one blue n(e)=1*1;
so
n(e)/n(s)=1;
like the same way we can solve the above question
so n(s)=26c2;
n(e)=7*3;
ans:
7*3/26c2

- answer is probably 21/(28*27)
???

- It must be one after another . 7/25 into 3/25 = 21/625

- if first white chip chosen and blue chip is chosen the prob is 3/26*7/25
else first blue and then white prob is 7/26*3/25
total prob is =(3/26*7/25)+(7/26*3/25) - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- answer=20/26 where 1/3+1/7=10/21 where it can also be written as 20/26 while considering green also
