how many minutes will it take to completely fill a water tank with a capacity of 3750 cuft, if the water is being pumped at the rate of 800 cuft. per minute and being drained out of tank at the rate of 300 cuft per minute

• 6th minute tank is filled. In firs minute it takes in 800-300(outflow)=500 in tank, Similarly,for 2 minutes 500+800-300=1000; 1500,2000,2500,3000. Now as the next minute 800 (inflow)+3000=3800 tank capacity is 3750. its filled

• let it take x monute to fill the tank ,then
  
  800x- 300x =3750
  
  500x = 3750
  
  x =3750/500= 375/50 = 75/10 = 7.5
