- metal strip width is x
it can not be changes if any number of plate placed over it
hence ans is X - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(17) No(11)

Total z strips are there with x width. So total width will be Z*X. Length Y is only to confuse you. - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(9) No(3)
- width of 1st strip = X & now z-1 strips are left
and hence total width = X+(z-1)*(y-x) - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(9)
- Total width= xz
Y is irrelevent. - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(7)
- width of two metal strips = 2X = Y;
therefore width of Z strips = ZX,,,, - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(8)
- width of 1 strip=X cm
hence width of such Z strips =Z*X - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(6)
- x only

- x

- Width will be X

- length of first metal strip=x
length of 2nd metal strip=y-x
so,length of z metal strips of type 2nd=z*(y-x)
total final width=x+z*(y-x) - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(7)
- width of 1st strip = X & now z-1 strips are left
and hence total width = X+(z-1)*(y-x)
proceed by taking as 1,2,3,4 and think corresponding.... - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(4)
- we are talking only about width and not length, so neglect the length y!
final width = xcm - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(3)
- ans is x + (y-x)(z-1)
its an A.P...i.e a+[(n-1) * d] ==> a = first term, n = total no., d = cmmn diff.
say eg: say metal strip width 2 cm, 2 strips combining say 3 and total 5 strips so total sum of width wud be 2+(5-1)(3-2) = 8. - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(5)
- 2Z will b the final width of the strip

- I am still confusing,so explain the question correctly
