A work is done by two people in 24 minutes One of them alone can do it in 40 minutes

assume A's work is =w1 and B's work is=w2
so
w/w1=40 and w/(w1+w2)=24 now we have to calculate w/w2=?
so by solving both equations we get w/w2 as=60 min so
B's time = 60 min

b=1/60 in 1 min.
than b can complete in 60min.

1/x+1/y=xy/x+y=====>24 min.
1/40+1/y=1/24
1/y=1/40-1/24==2/120===>1/60
So 2nd person can alone do that work in 60 days
