Father's age was five times his son's age 5 years ago and will be three times the son's age after 2 yrs. what is the ratio of their present ages?
Read Solution (Total 6)
-
- let son's present age is = x year
so son's age 5 year ago was (x-5)
and father's age was 5(x-5) that time
and after two years son's age would be (x+2)
and then father's age would be 3(x+2)
hence it is clear that 5(x-5)+7 = 3(x+2)
and after solving we get x = 12
so son's present age is 12 years and so father's present age is 5(12-5)+5=40
s0 the ratio of present age of father and son respectively is 40:12 or10:3 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(13) No(3)

- F-5=5(S-5)
F+2=3(S+2)
F: PRESENT AGE OF FATHER
S:PRESENT AGE OF SON
SOLVING WE GET F=40, S=12
THUS F:S=10:3 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
- let son-x, father -5x so presnt age-x=5,5x=5
eq- 5x+5+2=3(x+5+2), x=7
then present age-12,40 there ratio 3/10 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- ans is 40:7
- 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(12)
