How many natural number not exceeding 4321 can be formed with the digits 1,2,3 and 4 if the digits can repeat.

- wen 1 in thousand place.other three place can b fill 4*4*4=64.
same 2 and 3.till now(64+64+64)=192.
nex wen 4 in thousand place and 1 in hundred place,rest two place we can fill(4*4) way.and same wen 2 will b hundred place,so till now total(192+16+16)=224.
now wen 3 in hundred place and 1 in ten place we can fill rest one place by 4 way.and 2 in ten place we can fill rest one place by only 1 way....so total ans is(224+4+1)=229. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(4)

4 digit no = keepng 1 at thousnd place= 4^3= 64
