Probability
There is a school were 60% are girls and 35% of the girls are poor.
Students are selected at random, what is the probability of selecting a poor girl out of total strength.
Read Solution (Total 12)
-
- '21 will be the probability of poor girl out of total strength....
let 100 be the total strength
60% out of 100= 60 number of girls
now 35% of gals are poor ..i.e. (35/60)*100 are poor girl=21
so 21% of total strength are poo... i.e. the probability is .21

- 21 will be the probability of poor girl out of total strength....
let 100 be the total strength
60% out of 100= 60 number of girls
now 35% of girls are poor ..i.e. (35/100)*60 =21
therefore probability of selecting a poor girl out of 21 poor girls is 21 c 1=21

- let the total school strength be 100
60%(100)=60 students are girl students
35%(60)=21 are poor
probability of poor girl from total strength=21/100

- here,
35% of (60%) are poor
=> (35/100)*(60/100)=21/100
=> probability is .21 out of 1. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(8)
- 60*35/10000=2700/10000=.21(21%)

- let there are 100 students
therefore there 60 girls out of 100 students
to find the probability of selecting a poor girl
first of all we have to select a girl out of 100 students
then we select a poor girl
so the ans is:
(60/100)(21/60)
therefore probability is 21/100 or 21% - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(0)
- let total no of students be 100
then there are 60 girls and 40 boys
35% of 60 means 3500/60 =350/6
now probability of selecting a poor girl is (350/6)/100 = 35/60 = 7/12 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(20)
- let we take total students are 100(boys &girls)
60% are girls =100*(60/100)=60
35% poor girls=60*(35/100)=21
poor girl selected probability=21/100*(100)=21% - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(1)
- let 100 be total strength
60%=60
probability of selecting a poor girl=((35%60)*100)%100=0.58

- let 100 girls are there...60% means 60 girls..and 35%of 60=(35/60)*100=21.
so 21 girls out of 100..means 21100 is the probability. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(7)
- lets us assume total no of student in the class is 100
then 60% of girls , it means 60 girils
in that 35% poor, then 35/100*60=21
probability 21/100. - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- Total number of girls student is 60%
poor girl students are 35%
35/100 *60/100=21
probability=no of poor girl student/total number of girl students
=21/60
=0.35 - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
