num when divided by 5,2,3 successively in order to get remainder 0,1,2.what is remainder of same num when divided by 2,3,5 successively?
Read Solution (Total 19)
-
- Remainder will be 1,0,4
Number is 55 .
when divided by 5, quotient is 11 and remainder is zero.
when 11 is divided by 2, quotient is 5 and remainder is 1.
when 5 is divided by three, quotient is 1 and remainder is 2.
when same operation is applied on 55 i.e. successively divided by 2,3,5..
we get remainders as 1,0,4 successively. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(42) No(20)
- Let the number = N
Now N = 5K
K = 3L + 2
L = 2M + 1
K = 3(2M + 1) + 2 = 6M + 5
N = 5(6M + 5) = 30 M + 25
For M = 0 we get the least number as 25. Now when 25 is divided by 2, we get 12 as quotient and 1 as remainder. When 12 is divided by 3 we get 4 as quotient, and 0 as remainder. When 4 is divided by 5 we gt 4 as remainder - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(18) No(2)
- ans will be 1,0,4,,,,nd no 55 divided by 2 we get remainder 1,then quotint 27 divided by 3 we get 0,then quotient 9 /5 we get remainder as 4, sweta is r8..

- Let the final remainder in first operation be x, where x is an integer
thus,
Before division by 3 number was 3x+2,
Before division by 2 number was 2(3x+2)+1 = 6x+5,
Before division by 5 number was 5(6x+5) = 30x+25
Now for second operation, divide the number by 2, we get
[(30x+25)/2] number becomes 15x+12 with remainder 1
Dividing 15x+12 by 3, [(15x+12)/3] number becomes 5x+4 with remainder 0
Dividing 5x+4 by 5, [(5x+4)/5] number becomes x with remainder 4 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(0)

- here is the simple yet justified way to slove it:
Let the final remainder in first operation be x, where x is an integer
thus,
Before division by 3 number was 3x+2,
Before division by 2 number was 2(3x+2)+1 = 6x+5,
Before division by 5 number was 5(6x+5) = 30x+25
Now for second operation, divide the number by 2, we get
[(30x+25)/2] number becomes 15x+12 with remainder 1
Dividing 15x+12 by 3, [(15x+12)/3] number becomes 5x+4 with remainder 0
Dividing 5x+4 by 5, [(5x+4)/5] number becomes x with remainder 4

- se this simple technique.[ (1 x 3) + 2] = 5 [(5 x 5) + 0] = 25 Procedure: Let the number = N Now N = 5K K = 3L + 2 L = 2M + 1 K = 3(2M + 1) + 2 = 6M + 5 N = 5(6M + 5) = 30 M + 25 For M = 0 we get the least number as 25. Now when 25 is divided by 2, we get 12 as quotient and 1 as remainder. When 12 is divided by 3 we get 4 as quotient, and 0 as remainder. When 4 is divided by 5 we get 4 as remainder.
The correct answer is: 1, 0,4 - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- As number 'x' gives remainder 0 when divided by 5 and then it gives 1 remainder when it's quotient is divide by2. Therefore number is in odd multiple of 5
which can be 5,15,25,35 and so on.
Now clearly when odd multiple of 5 is divided by 2 then it gives remainder 1.Therefore our first remainder would be 1.When acquired quotient is further divided by 3 it gives remainder of 0 as quotient cannot be less than 30 as 5*2*3=30 and number 'x' cannot be 35 as it does not give the given remainder sequence.Then we can observe 55 is the number which gives the given remainder sequence therefore we will add 30 to 55 as given sequence of remainder can be only found in the series of 55,85,115,145,175..Then final quotient is divided by 5 and it will give remainder 4.
Therefore answer would be 1,0,4. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)

5 |x
3 |y .....rem 0 z=2*1+1=3
2 |z......rem 2 y=3*(z=3)+2=11
|1......rem1 x=5*(y=11)+0=55
so number x=55
2 |55
3 |27 .....rem 1
5 |9......rem 0
|1......rem 4
so number x=55 - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
