• first let the distance of 1st chord 32 cm from center is a and perpendicular from the center bisects the chord so using pythagoras we can find out a = 12cm (20^2=a^2+16^2)
  similarly distance of 2nd chord from the center i.e b can be obtained by (20^2=b^2+12^2) b= 16
  so a+b = 28
