• sqaure arrangments look like this:-

  so 1st position=12 (49-12=37)
  2nd position=49
  3rd position=8 (49-8=41)
  4th position=117
  so 5th position =154
  6th position=113
  then sum of the diagonal =200(4th+5th+6th)
  so, 7th position=38
  8th ........=75
  9th position=34
  so x+y=38+34=72(answer)............(thanks to All) :)
