- wrong question not 70km its 7km
Distance=speed*time
let x is length of train
5:18-5:12=6minutes=6/60 hr=1/10hr
now D=(x+7)=80kmph*1/10
x=1km - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(28) No(1)
- tunnel length =7 Km
let Train length = x km
distance = 80km
time= 5:18-5:12= 6 min or 6/60 hr.
Using formula
Time taken by train= train length+ tunnel length/distance
6/60= (x+7)/80
solving this we get
x=1Km - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(1)
- is it a tunnel or a blackhole? :O
it must be 7km :P - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- lol if the tunnel is 70 km then the train length will be 62 km
70+t=80x6/60 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- total distance the has to travel is=length of train+length of tunnel=
consider length of train is x km.
so,total distance=x+75
time taken by train to come out from tunnel=6 min
80=(x+70)/6/60
x=62km
