Viru and dhoni are running in a race if there speed is in the ratio 5:3 respectively and total distance traveled by them in one round is .5 km . Find the distance traveled by viru when he passes dhoni for the sixth time.

let the speed of viru is 5 km/h and that of dhoni is 3 km/h
the time of the meeting in which they meet for the first time is given as...... (distance)/(difference of the speed) = 0.5/(5-3)=1/4........
when they will meet for the 6th time the time taken by both will be 6*(1/4) = 3/2.....
now speed of dhoni is 5 km/h and time taken is 3/2..... so distance traveled by dhoni is 15/2= 7.5 km....

- let speed of viru and dhoni are 5x and 3x.
ratio of distance traveled by them= ratio of speed of them =5:3
total distance traveled by both=.5km
so distance traveled by viru in one round= .5*(5/8) =.3125km and distance traveled by dhoni in one round will be .1875 km.
so the length of track =.3125.
time taken by viru to complete one round=.3125/5x
and time taken by dhoni to complete one round=.3125/3x
both will meet after time( LCM of .3125/5x and .3125/3x)=.3125/x
both meet for the sixth time after (.3125/x)*6
so distance traveled bu viru upto 6th meet = (.3125/x)*6*5x =9.375km
