3. Number when divided by 5,2,3 successively in order to get remainder 0,1,2. What is remainder of same number, when divided by 2,3,5 successively?
Read Solution (Total 11)
-
- Remainder will be 1,0,4
Number is 55 .
when divided by 5, quotient is 11 and remainder is zero.
when 11 is divided by 2, quotient is 5 and remainder is 1.
when 5 is divided by three, quotient is 1 and remainder is 2.
when same operation is applied on 55 i.e. successively divided by 2,3,5..
we get remainders as 1,0,4 successively. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(28) No(7)
- If x is the last quotient, then
Number will be
(2*(3x+2)+1)*5 = 30x+25
For min number , put x=1, then number will be 55.
If x=2, number is 85
but in each case , Remainder will be 1,0,4 when divided by 2,3,5 successively.

- no need to calculate the correct no.
number=(divisor*quotient)+rem
here when div=3,rem=2 hence no=3k+2
when div=2,rem=1 hence no=2(3k+2)+1
when div=5,rem=0 hence no=5(2(3k+2)+1)+0
finally number=30k+25
now successively divide it by 2,3,5
25/2=12, rem=1
12/3=4, rem=0
4/5=0, rem=4 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(21) No(0)
- 55 should be correct.
@ Niki,
Pls check.
if no is 35, then remainders will be 0,1,0 when divided by 5,2,3 successively. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(0)
- how can one assume that it will be 55 directly
- 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(3)
- remainder will be 1,0,4
Number can be 25,55,85,...
@divya
put x=0,min no. will be 25 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(1)
- x=5y+0
y=2z+1
z=3*1+2=5
thus y=11 and x=55
now on dividing 55 by 2 gives remainder as 1 and quotient as 27
now divide 27 by 3 gives 0as remainder and 9 as quotient
now on dividing 9 by 5 gives remainder as 4

- 5*(2*(3*x+2)+1)
put x=1
number can be 25
hence ans. is 4

- 5 2 3
0 1 2
its a rule by multiplying (((2*2)+1)*5)+0)=(((4)+1)*5)=(5*5)=25
now take sucession division of 25
by 2,3,5
25/2=14 quotient and 1 remainder
14/3=4 quotient and 2 remainder
4/5=4 remainder
so ans is (1,2,4)

- the number can be 35 also, in that case remainder will be 1,2,0

- The number is 25 and the answer is 1, 0, 4..
Part 1:
The number(25) is successively divided by 5, 3, 2 gets reminder 1,2,0==>
5 l_25_
3 l_5___-0
l_1___-2 ==>> 1, 2, 0
(or)
25/5= 5 (quotient) 0(reminder)
5/3= 1(quotient) 2(reminder)
further u cant divide the quotient value... so, 1(quotient), 2(reminder), 0(reminder)
Part 2:
The same number is successively divided by 2, 3, 5==>>
2 l_25__
3 l_12__-1
5 l__4___-0 ==>> 1,0,4 (answer) - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
