exam Maths Puzzle Numerical Ability

Im lost... any help is appreciated greatly.

x-2/x-3 + x-3/x-2 = 2x^2/x^2-5x+6
((x-2)^2+(x-3)^2)/(x-3)(x-2)=2x^2/(x-3)(x-2)
(x-2)^2+(x-3)^2=2x^2
x^2-2x+4+x^2-6x+9=2x^2
-8x+13=0
x=13/8

Thanks again!
