50. I have 3 grandsons. The age diff btw 2 of grandsons is X yrs. 1st grandson is twice elder than younger one addition off ages of all the three is y then what is age of eldest grandson

  now a-b=x , a=2c ,a+b+c=y..
  a/2=c and b=a-x put in eq..
  a/2+a-x+ a =y
  a= (x+y)*2/5

  given x2-x1=x.
  x3=2x1
  x1+x2+x3=y
  so x1=x3/2 and x2=x+x3/2
  so x3/2+x+x3/2+x3=y
  so 2x3=y-x
  x3=(y-x)/2

  as given x=2z and x+x-2+z=y
  x=(2*y+4)/5
  age of eldest grandson =(2*y+4)/5
