5. A hollow pipe has circumference 14 cm. A bug is on its wall at a distance of 48 cm from top. A drop of honey is on the wall at 24 cm from top but diametrically opposite to bug. Find the shortest distance bug has to travel to reach honey.

- Total Vertical Distance bug has to through = 24 cm
Circumference of pipe= 14 cm
Since bug has to move to diametrically opposite side, it has to cover half of the circumference = 14/2 = 7 cm

and the circumference is give as 14 but the bug must only travel half of the pipe so the distance is 7 cm
now to find the shortest path is,
it forms a right angler triangle.
so,x^2=7^2+24^2
therefore, x=25 cm

then by Pythagoras,sqrt root( 24^2-(49/11)^2)=23.58 from top
