a sum of rs7700 is to be divided among three brothers rajish, ramesh and ramu in such a way that simple interest on each part at 5% per annum after 1,2, and 3yrs respectively remains equal the share of rajish is more than that of ramu by?

- Use formula for simple interest, S.I.=PRT/100. Let A, B and C be the share (i.e. principal) of Rajesh, Ramesh and Ramu resp. Then, according to the conditions,
1) For Rajesh, S.I.=(AX5X1)/100=A/20,
2) For Ramesh, S.I.=(BX5X2)/100=B/10, and
3) For Ramu, S.I.=(CX5X3)/100.
Given that all the S.I.'s are same. Then equating, we get,
(A/20)=(B/10)=(3C/20). Simplifying, we get, (A/2)=B=(3C/2).
Expressing B and C in terms of A, we get, B=A/2 and C=A/3.
But A+B+C=7700. Solving, we get, A=4200, hence B=2100 and C=1400.
Hence the required difference between Rajesh's and Ramesh's share=4200-1400=2800.
Thus, Rs.2800 is the answer. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(37) No(0)
