- question is wrong....
it must be asking ratio of salary in march...
so ans will be 3:4 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- 4:5 it is clear from the question

- Assume peter salary as 8000 and john as 10000,as it will satisfy ratio of 4:5.
now in march they are getting 2000 less than february...
so in march peter salary will be 6000
and john salary will be 8000
so ratio of their salary in march will be 3:4 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- But how can we assume salary @Tauseef Ameen ??......if it is assumed something else then ratio will be different.

- tauseef ameen how did u get 3:4?
- 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- NO...you cant assume any salary...
here i assumed salary as 8000 for peter and 10000 for john..as it satisfy ratio of 4:5
u can assume ratio as 80 and 100 ,400 and 500,2000 and 2500...
anything which satisfy this given ratio....
assuming ratio will not affect ans as we have to give solution in ratio too...
so it is a good practice to assume salary in case of ratios - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- @Tauseef ....ok so if we assume salary in feb as 16000 and 20000 (in ratio of 4:5) then in march their salary is 14000 and 18000 respectively......so this gives ratio of 7:9 and not 3:4

- OK...I agreed with you..
in such type of situation...
we have to go with option...
option will make a difference here - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
