There is a 12*6 grid...grid contains 1*1 squares.What is the total number of squares and rectangles.

• we have the formula for finding no. of squares in ( m*n ) ractangle.-----
  = m*n + (m-1)*(n-1) + (m-2)(n-2)+........up till one dimension is not 1..
  so...for above question..
  no of sq = 12*6 + 11*5 + 10*4 + 9*3 + 8*2 + 7*1 = 217 ans
