Read Solution (Total 3)
-
- let he starts with x
after 1st round
amount left (2x-2p)
after 2nd round
amount left {3(2x-2p)-p}
after 3rd round
amount left [4{3(2x-2p)-p}-3p]-------------(1)
from question
amount given to his friend 2p+p+3p=360
so p=60
put this value in equation (1)
and solving we get x=80 Rs - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- gambler starts with x
after 1st round =2x-2p (2p is given to friend)
after 2nd round =3(2x-2p)-p (p is given to friend)
=6x-7p
after 3rd round =4(6x-7p)-3p (3p is given to friend)
=24x-31p
given sum given to frnds is p+2p+3p=360=>p=60
and also 24x-31p=60
24x=32*60 (p=60)
x=80
