• @harish mukha u way is correct but u made silly mistake half of -0.75 is -0.32.5..so answer will be -0.75+(-0.32.5)=-1.125

  6-3=3, then keep the 3 aside and add half of 3(i.e.,1.5) 3+1.5 =4.5
  4.5-3=1.5, then keep the 1.5 aside and add half of 1.5(i.e.,0.75) 1.5+0.75 = 2.25
  2.25-3=-0.75, then keep the -0.75 aside and add half of -0.75(i.e.,0.32.5) -0.75+0.32.5=0.42.5
