  6x+5x=55(given)
  11x=55
  x=5. so present ages are: 6*5=30 and 5*5=25
  after few yrs ratio becomes 8:5.
  so,their ages will become 8x and 7x respectively, ie. 40 and 35 respectively.

• consider after z years the ratio would be :
  6+z/5+z=7/8
  7(6+z)=8(5+z)
  42+7z=40+8z
  8z-7z=42-40
  1z=2
