Bhatia, Ashtikar and Singh begin to play with Rs 70 each. At the end the ratio of the amounts left
with Ashtikar and Singh is 1 : 2 and of those with Singh and Bhatia is 4 : 1. What is Singh's gain
(in Rs)?
Read Solution (Total 5)
-
- Singh's Gain is Rs.50
sol. We have b+a+s = 210
and s = 2a, s = 4b and a = 2b
solving these EQs we got
that singh have Rs.120 in the end
Bhatia have 30
and Astikar have 60.
so singh's profit is 120 - 70 = 50 (70 was his Buy in)
Verify
120+30+60 = 210

- At the end , ratio of amounts of Ashtikar, Singh and Bhatia are 2:4:1.
so out of total Rs 210 (3*70), share of Singh is 210*4/7 = Rs 120.
so Singh's gain = Rs 120-70 = Rs 50. - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(20) No(1)
- a:s=1:2
s:b=4:1
hence the a:s:b will be 2:4:1
so for singh =210(4/7)=50 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(1)
- ANS: 120RS
total 70+70+70 = 210
a:s=1:2 ; s:b=4:1 lcm of 2,4 = 4 (to equate the ratios)
a:s = 2:4 s:b =4:1 now a:s:b = 2:4:1
2x+4x+x = 210 ; 7x=210 ;x = 30 end they got S=4x=4*30=120RS ;B=2x =2*30=60RS A=30 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(2)
- 1:2 and 4:1
1*2:2*2::4:1
2:4:1
(4/(2+4+1))*210=120
120-70=50
