Age Problem
Aman's expense is 30% more
than Vimal's expense and Vimal's
expense is 10% less than
Raman's expense. If the sum of
their expenses is Rs. 6447, then
what would be the Aman's expense ?
(1) Rs. 2,200 (2) Rs. 2,457
(3) Rs. 1,890 (4) Rs. 2,100
(5) None of these
Read Solution (Total 5)
-
- let raman's expanses=100
so vimal's= 90
aman's will be= 90*130/100=117
so total expense= 100+90+117=307
when total expense is 307 then aman's expense=117
when total expense is 6447 then aman's expense=117*6447/307=2457
so aman's expense= 2457 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(0)
- Let Aman's ,vimal's and raman's expenses be a,v,r
Now given that Aman's expense is 30% more than that of Vimal's expense
==> a=(0.3*v)+v ==> a=1.3v
Now given that Vimal's expenses is 10% less than that of Raman's
==> v=r-(o.1)r ==> v=0.9r
Now given that a+v+r=6447
on substituting the values we get
(1.3)(0.9)r+0.9r+r=6447 ==> r=2100
wkt v=0.9r ==> v=0.9*2100 = 1890
wkt a=1.3v ==> a= 1.3 *1890 ==>2457

- Let Raman's expense be Rs. x
Then, Vimal's expenses :
= 90% of x
= Rs. ((90/100)×x)=Rs. 9x/10.
Aman's expense :
=130% of Rs. (9x/10)= Rs. (130/100×9x/10)= Rs. 117x/100
∴117/100+9x/10+x=6447
⇒(117x+90x+100x)/100=6447
⇒307x=644700
⇒x=644700/307
⇒x=2100
Hence, Aman's expenses :=Rs. (117×2100/100)=Rs. 2457 - 4 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
