- Assuming we are talking practially,
The Earth is a globe. North Pole is the at the topmost part of the planet.
So, when he moved away from the North Pole and travelled 2000 miles, he actually travelled longitudinally towards the South Pole.
Then he travelled West( according to us and not him) for 2000 miles
Then he travelled North (according to us again) for 2000 miles.
This will take him back to the North Pole.
This is because the topmost part of the sphere is spherical in shape.
So, the curve takes him back to the North Pole - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(11) No(1)
- first he is at the north pole so in the north direction, now he moves to west, then he moves again to north to meet his friend so obviously he is in north direction and the distance here would be the displacement ie,sqrt(2000^2+2000^2)=2828.42
