Anna, Bena, Catherina and Diana are at their monthly business meeting. Their occupations are author, biologist, chemist and doctor, but not necessarily in that order. Diana just told the neighbour, who is a biologist that Catherine was on her way with doughnuts. Anna is sitting across from the doctor and next to the chemist. The doctor was thinking that Bena was a good name for parent's to choose, but didn't say anything. What is each person's occupation?

- Anna-biologist: Bena-chemist: Catherina-author: Diana-doctor
(Catherina was not there, so she is not biologist, chemist or doctor ie she is author. Anna is not doctor or chemist ie she is biologist. Bena is not doctor ie she is chemist. So Diana is doctor.) - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(9) No(2)
- Diana: chemist .......Anne: Biologist

Bena: Author..........Catherine: Doctor
We know that Dianna is sitting besides the biologist
So, we know Dianna is not the biologist
We know that Anna is sitting opposite the doctor and besides the chemist
So, Anna can only hold top right and bottom left positions
And Catherine can hold only bottom left and bottom right positions
Now, from analysis, Dianna and the bottom right positions share the chemist and doctor amongst themselves.
So, bottom left position is the author
The doctor is not Bena
Since Doctor shied away from speaking about Bena, we assume that Dianna is not the doctor as she was speaking to her neighbour freely
So, from analysis, the above table is formed
