The reduction of rs 12 in the selling price of an article will change 5% gain into 2.5% loss the cost price of the article?

• Let cost price is =x
  Now for 5% gain ,so sp become=(105÷100)*x.
  And for 2.5%loss ,sp become=(97.5÷100)*x.
  Form the problem we can write
  (105÷100)*x-12=(97.5/100)*x.

  For Rs.X selling price the profit is 5%
  For Rs.X-12 selling price there is a loss of 2.5%
  therefore the difference of Rs.12 makes about 7.5%
