The difference between two numbers is16, if their sum is 60, find the numbers

  a=16+b

• add sum and diff of 2 nos and divide by two u will get one no
  i.e., (16+60) /2= 38
  and 60-38 = 22 gives other no.

  y-x=16 _1
  y+x=60 _2
  2y=60
  y=60/38
  y=38.
  Putting the value of y in eq 2 we get,
  38+x=60
  X=60-60-38
  x=22.
