A contractor takes a contract of a work for 40 days & initially he appointed 100 men on the job. After 35 days he appointed 100 more person on the job & finished the work on time. If he doesn't appoints more workers on a job the how many days work will take to complete from actual time?
Read Solution (Total 1)
-
- 45 days
As per the given problem 100 men works for 40 days and another 100 men work for 5 days(from 36th day to 40 day).
If 100 men's 1 day job=1/x, then their 40 day job=40/x & another 100 men's 5 day job=5/x
So total completed job in 40 days=40/x + 5/x =45/x =1, so x=45
If more workers are not appointed, then job completed by 100 men for 40 days=40/45=8/9
Remaining job=1/9
So more days required to complete the job=(1/9)/(1/45)=5 days
So total days required without extra workers=40+5=45 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
