messy shoots every 3rd penalty to goal. if he gets chance to shoot all five penalty shots. what is the probability that he converts (does) exactly 3 goals.

• probability for goal in 1 shot= 1/3
  probability probability to miss a goal in a shot = 2/3
  therefore probability of exactly 3 goals= 5C3*(1/3)^3*(2/3)^2
  please correct me if i am wrong ...it will be helpful....thanku

  therefore probability of exactly 3 goals= (1/3)^3*(2/3)^2*5!

• Since the question says every third penalty will be goal and not that 1 of the 3 penalties will be goal, therefore the probability of goal is not 1/3.
  Now since every third penalty is goal therefore no. of 3rd penalties in 5 penalty shootout is 1 (i.e 3rd) therefore ans will be 0.
