In the reading room of a library, there are23 reading spots.Each reading spot consists of a round table
with 9 chairs placed around it. There are some readers such that in each occupied reading spot there are
different numbers of readers. If in all there are 36 readers, how many reading spots do not have even a single
reader?

- Consider the case that on first reading spot there is only person we are taking unequal number of persons at every spot because it is given in the question, So i consider at first reading spot 1 person at the other reading spot 2 until 8 because 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8=36 all persons seated at the tables now we have taken 8 tables(spots) so the remaining spots are 23-8=15 hence d is the answer!!.

as their are 36 readers and 23 spots and no spot has equal no of readers then no spots which are filled with at least one are
sum of no terms is equal to 36 x(x+)/2=36 ==> x=8
hence no of reading spots do not have single reader are 23-8=15

- I think that it should be specified in the question that we have to find the maximum possible reading spots do not have even a single reader,if so AKSHAYDEEP's Answer is right.
