A company is replacing its fleet of trucks and vans. The old trucks got 18 kilometers per liter, the new trucks will give 23 Kmpl. The old van got 13 kmpl, the new vans will give 14. The total numbers of kilometers driven is normally 15000 per month, and 30% of this is through vans. How many liters of fuel per month will the company save by using the new trucks and vans?
Read Solution (Total 3)
-
- 151.537 liters
Out of monthly 15000 km. driven 30% or 15000*30/100=4500 Km. driven by van, So 70% or 15000*70/100=10500 Km. driven by truck.
Consumption of fuel(in liters) by old trucks & Vans=(10500/18) +(4500/13)=217500/234
Consumption of fuel(in liters) by new trucks & vans=(10500/23)+(4500/14)=250500/322
So saving by using new trucks & vans=(217500/234)-(250500/322)=929.487 - 777.95=151.537 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- The outside dimensions of a certain crate must be scaled down proportionally to fit certain
shipping requirements. If the original dimensions are 64 centimeters by 122 centimeters by 28
centimeters. What will be the decrease in its longest side when the sum of the dimensions is
scaled down to equal 143 centimeters? - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- Ans 151.537
very simple, just understand the question by reading it.. it seems lengthy but the logic is easy..
Trucks- 10500 Vans – 4500
10500/18 = 583 litres 4500/13 = 346 litres
10500/23 = 456 litres 4500/14 = 321 litres
583+ 346= 929 litres 456+ 321=777 litres
Difference 929-777= 152(approx) or 151.537 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
