Q. What will be the no. of different ways to answer six questions having 3 different options
(i.e. yes/no/Don't know) ?

- whenever no. of ways are asked, then always use combinations i.e.
6C3 = 6!/(3!*3!)
=6*5*4/(3*2*1)

- if we r talking about number of ways.,
..then out of 6 questions we have to select 1 question i.e 6c1
and number of ways to answer each question is 3c1 as we have three options for each question..
so the total ways to answer each questions is=6c1*3c1.
as there are total 6 questions so multiply the above equation by 6.
i.e 6(6c1*3c1).

- logically speaking for each question there should be 3 options..suppose i select 1 question 1C1*3C1=3..thus for 6 questions no. of ways =6(1C1*3C1)=18...
