how many positive integers less than 600 can be formed using 1,2,3 and 6 for its digit. with each digit behind used only once
Read Solution (Total 7)
-
- Three digit number: 3*3*2=18(since the number should be less then 600)
Two digit number:4*3=16
One digit number:4
so 18+16+4=34(Ans) - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(12) No(8)
- Num of possible 1 digit numbers = 4
Num of possible 2 digit numbers = 4*3 = 12
For 3 digit numbers, to meet the condition the number should be less than 600, so 6 cannot be in the hundredth position.
Num of possible 3 digit numbers = 3*3*2 = 18
Total +ve integers meeting the condition = 4+12+18 =34

- For hundred place there are 3 choices i.e.,1,2 and 3.----3
For tens place there are again 3 choices(excluding above digit used and including 6)---3
and for unit place we have 2 digits left----2
So, the answer will be---3*3*2=18.
So, we have 18 positive integers less than 600 that can be formed using 1,2,3 and 6! - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(5)
Coz the no. Should be smaller than 600 so 6 can't be kept on the first position..
So the arrangement for 1,2 or 3 in the first place will be 3c2*2! Each...so in total its 18 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(4)
- 34
3 digit no. =18
2 digit no.=12
1 digit no. =4
thus total =34 numbers - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- The positive integer less than 500 can be formed using 1,2,3,6 are
since for one digit we have 4
for two digit we have 4*3
for three digit we have 3*3*2 because the hundred th digit not be 6 so it has only 3 ways at first position
so finally ,4+12+18=34 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Possible no of 1 digit numbers- 4.
Possible no of 2 digit numbers- 4*3=12
Possible no of 3 digit numbers -3*4*4= 48.
So total numbers=(4+12+48)=64.
