- 10/x-0.5=5, solving we get x=1.5.
10/x+0.5=3, solving we get x=2.83. So difference b/w speed is 1.33 definetely... - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(13) No(5)
- 0.33km/h.
speed of man upstream will be 2.5km/h which becomes 2km/h
speed of man downstream will be 3.33km/h which becomes 2.83km/h
so difference is 0.33 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(11) No(6)
- Downstream =x+0.5
Upstream =x-0.5
0.5+x=(10/5)
X=1.5
X-0.5=(10/3)
X=3.83
So the difference is 2.33 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(4)

- speed of upstrem is 2 hrs but river speed is 0.5 .so upstrem speed 2.5 km/hr
speed of downstrem is 2.83 but river speed 2.83km/hr
so differnece is 0.33 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- ans is 1 bez
rate of stream=1/2*(rate of downstream-rate of upstream)
0.5*2=1 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(2)

- speed of river=0.5km/hr
speed of man upstream=10/5=2km/hr
net speed upstream=2-0.5=1.5km/hr
speed of man downstream=10/3=3.33km/hr
net speed downstream=3.33+0.5=3.83
So diff. in speed=3.83-1.5=2.33 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- ans- 0.33 km/h.
suppose
u=speed of man
v=speed of river (0.5km/h)
A goes upstream so u-0.5=10/5=5/2
Another goes downstream so u+0.5=10/3=17/6
difference between their speed= 17/6-5/2=1/3=0.33 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- the difference in their speed is 20/15=2*speed of river +actual difference in speed
therefore actual difference in their speed is=20/15-1= 0.33 km/hr - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 10/5=2 i.e the speed of man going upstream=2 km/hr.
river must have oppose the velocity, ( x-0.5)=2 therefore speed of man=2.5k/hr
10/3=3.33 i.e the speed of another man going downstream=3.33km/hr
river must have supported the velocity,(x1+0.5)=3.33,therefore speed of ANOTHER man=2.83
therefore actual difference in their speed =2.83-2.5=0.33km/hr - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- s=d/t
for upstream, 0.5-x=10/2
x=1.5
for downstream, 05+y=10/3
2.83
so difference is=1.33 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Let us Know S=D/T;
1) S1= 10/5 = 2
2) S2= 10/3 = 3.33
S2 - S1 = 3.33 - 2 = 1.33 - 4 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
