two sides of a plot measure 48m 64m and the angle between them is a right angle.the other two sides measure 50m each and the other three angle are not right angle.if the plot is not convex what is the area of the plot
Read Solution (Total 6)

- area of 1st triangle =1/2*64*48=1536
hyp of 1st triangle=root under 48^2+64^2=80
2nd triangle is isosceles so height =sqrt 2500-1600=30
so are of 2nd triangle=1/2*80*30=1200
so total area=1536+1200=2736

- let us divide the area in two triangles..
one right angled with base & height as 48 m & 64m.. i.e. the hyp = root(48^2+64^2) = 80m.. thus area = .5*48*64 = 1536 sq m
second one is isosceles with base = 80m (the hyp of the prev triangle) & the remaining two sides 50m each.. thus area = .5*80*50=1200 sq m
hence total area = 1536+1200 = 1736 sq m - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(4)
- total area=3420sq m

- one right angled triangle,its sides as 48m and 64m ..its hyp=80m thus area =(1/2)*48*64=1536 sq m
second one isosceles with base as 80 m and remaining sides as b=50 m each ...its area =(1/2)*b*h...as h=Root(50^2 -(1/4)*80^2)=30 hence its 2nd area =(1/2)*50*30=750 sq m
Hence total area =1536+750=2286 sq m

- since its not a convex polynomial
therefore the area=64*48/2-30*80/2=336 sq.m
