- 0 faces should be painted pink i.e all faces blue

- Ans. 3faces
1/3=4/6*(probability of getting pink on second cube)
(probability of getting pink on second cube)=1/2
which we will get if we paint 3 out of 6 faces pink. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(9) No(9)
- probablity of getting pink face = 1/3 = probablity of getting pink on one * probablity of getting pink on other (4/6*x/6).
where x = no of pink colour faced in second cube
x = 3 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(2)
- let the second box be painted with pink x sides , thus (6-x) sides are painted blue.
We will have same colour when either both cubes show Pink or both blue;
As per question,
(4/6)*(x/6)+(2/6)*(6-x)/6=1/3
On solving you get a value of x=0;
So no sides in the 2nd cube was painted pink - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(0)
- 1/2*4/6 + 1/2 * (no. of pink faces on 2nd cube/6) = 1/3
=> 1/3 + x/12 =1/3
=> x= 0
so no of pink face on second cube = 0 Ans. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- * getting pink face painted is 1/3( correction in question)

- can anyone say what wl be the ans of ds qus.........
- 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(3)
- Question was like...probablity of getting same colour is 1/3....
If 2nd cube has 0 pink faces , that means 6 bile faces...
1st cube = 4 pink , 2 blue
2nd cube = 0 pink , 6 blue
On 1st cube its alwas blue = 1
2nd cube , probablity of getting blue is =2 / 6 = 1/3 Ans - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- Explanation:
First cube has got 4 pink sides and 2 black sides.
Let the other cube got x sides pink and (6 - x) sides black.
Now when we roll both the dice, we can either pink on both cubes or black on both cubes.
Probability = 46×x6+26×6−x6=13
=4x+12−2x36=13
⇒x=0
So second cube should not have any pink faces at all. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- here goes my solution guys.Please correct me if i am wrong. Let 'a' number of face of the second cube be painted pink.Now we have for possible outcome
case 1:-pink on both the cubes.
case 2:-pink on 1st cube and not a pink face on second cube.
case 3:-blue on first cube and pink on second cube
case 4:-blue on 1st cube and not pink on second cube.
so for case 1: probability=4/6 *a/6
case 2:-probability:-4/6*(1-a/6)
case 3 :-probability= 2/3*a/6
case 4:- probability:- 2/6*(1-a/6)
so required probabilty:- case 1/(case 1+case 2 +case 3+ case 4) which is equal to 1/3
solving the equation we get a=3 i.e 3 faces of the second cube must be pink.
please correct me if i am wrong. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(9)
