km in 2 hours while for covering the same distance
upstream, it takes 4 hours. What is the speed of the
boat in still water?

  If Speed(Km/h) of the boat in still water=x and Stream=y, then
  16/(x+y)=2 or x+y=8 ---(i) &
  16/(x-y)=4 or x-y=4 ---(ii)
  On solving (i) & (ii), x=6, y=2

  So .. speed in still water =(8+4)/2
  = 6 km/h ans
