  I think there are 20 questions, in a paper.
  97 is possible with 19 correct answers & 1 non attempt.
  95 is possible with 19 correct answers & 1 wrong answer
  So 96 is not attainable marks.
  
  2) Character 'D' will come at 2014th position.
  As first 5 positions are assigned to A,B,C,D & E respectively and from 6th position group of four number takes alternate positions as DCBA & BCDE, so finding 'n' groups of 4, we have 5+4n=2014 here n=502 with remainder 1, as 502th group of 4 will occupy B,C,D,E, so remainder 1 or next 2014th position will be occupied by 'D'

• 1. there are 16 questions. taking option a i.e. 97, we get 20 marks for attempting+15*5 for correct answers +1*2 for not attempting = 97, so it is attainable. taking option c,i.e. 95, we get 20 marks for attempting+ 15*5 for correct answer + 1*0 for wrong answer= 95, so this is also attainable. but for option b, i.e. 96 we can't find any suitable order of arranging the correct answers or not attempting questions. so, option b is correct.
