Two trains running in opposite direction crosses a man standing on a platform in 27 seconds 17 seconds respectively and they cross each other in 23 seconds then find the ratio of their speed?

  If length of 1st train=t1 and 2nd train=t2 and their speeds 'x' & 'y' respectively, then
  t1/x=27 or t1=27x ---(i) and t2/y=17 or t2=17y (ii)
  Also given, (t1+t2)/(x+y)=23 ---(iii), substituting t1 & t2 from (i) & (ii), (27x+17y)/(x+y)=23 or 4x=6y
