Two full tanks, one shaped like a cylinder and the other like a cone. contain liquid fuel. The cylindrical held 500 litres more than the conical tank After 200 litres of fuel is pumped out from each tank the cylindrical
tank now contains twice the amount of fuel in the conical tank Howmany litres of fuel did the cylindrical tank have when it was full’
Options are
1200/1000/ there are also 2 options can't remember

- Let conical tank has x ltr of fuel then cylindrical tank hold x+500 ltr
A/Q
x-200=x+500-200
2(x-200)=x-300
2x-400=x-300
x=700
so
cylindrical tank has x+500=1200 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(0)
- let the fuel in conical be x ltr.
=> fuel in cylinder = x + 500.
after 200 taken out
fuel in conical be x-200
fuel in cylinder = x + 300.
now as per the ques
x + 300 = 2 (x - 200)
=> x = 700
therefore fuel in cylinder = 700 + 500 = 1200. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- cylinder=500+conical.......eq(1)
(Cylinder-200)=2(Conical-200).......eq(2)
Fuel in cylinder=?? fro eq1
conical=cylinder-500..... eq3
eq3 in eq 2
cylinder-200=2*cylinder-1000-400
cylinder=1200 liters

- go through option let there be 1200 so since cylindrical contain 500 more so conical have 700 no 200 is take out from both so remaining is 1000,500 which cylinder is 2wise the conical condition satisfy
