x,y,z are positive integers if x(y+z)=49, y(z+x)=40, z(y+x)=33. what is the value of x+y+z?
X(y+z) = 49 = 7*7
Y(z+x) = 40 = 4*10
Z(y+x) = 33 = 3*11
Therefore, x= 7, y= 4, z= 3
Therefore, x+y+z= 7+4+3 = 14

xy+yz = 63
y(x+y) = 63 so that y =21 , 3 and (x+y) = 3 , 21
but
xz+yz = 40
z(x+y) = 40 so that z = 20 ,8 , 5 , 1 ,40 and (x+y) = 2 , 5 , 8 , 40 , 1
so that only one case is possible
x = 20
y = 3
z =1
