THERE ARE 17 ELEPHANT IN KINGDOM ,KING WANT TO GIFT THOSE TO SAINTS,HE SAID TO SAINTS IN THE TOTAL ELEPHANTS HALF PART HAVE TO TAKE THE 1ST SAINT AND IN TOTAL ELEPHANTS ONLY 2ND SAINT HAVE TO TAKE ONE THIRD PART AND THE 3RD SAINT HAVE TO TAKE 2 ELEPHANTS

• just add 1 more elephant to it.so total is 18.now divide into half 18/2=9(1st saint gets).remaining is 9..1/3 of 9 is 3(2nd saint gets) and the 3rd saint gets 2 elephants.then take away the remaining 1 elephant which you added already

  Now half of 18 is 9. So 9 elephant to 1st saint.
  Again as per the next sentence "in total elephants only 2nd saint" one third of 18 is 6. So 6 elephants to 2nd saint
  Now remaining=18-9-6=3, from which 2 to the third saint.
  Now we are left with 3-2=1 elephant which was initially added.

• First the 3rd saint takes two elephants...then remaining is 15...then second saint takes 1/3rd of 15 i.e 5 elephants...hence 10 elephants will be remaining...so the first saint takes half of them...the first saint will get 5 elephants
