What is the value of X ?

1. x^2 + 1 = 1 / ( x^2 +1 )
2. x^3 + x^2 = 0

• Both the eqns give the solution x= 0 so
  1 or 2 alone is sufficient ..so ans is D

• 0 ;first i do cross multiplication and then solve using quadratic equation which give x^2=0 and x^2=-2.for 2nd take x^2 as common which gives x=0 and x=-1.so x=0 satisfies both the question . Hence,answer is 0.

  ((x^2+1)^2 -1)/(x^2+1)=0
  x^2(x^2+2)/(x^2+1)=0
  Hence x=0
  Thus statement 1 is enough only if it is given x is real.

  therefore both stmt 1 & 2 are required because none statement alone gives any particular value for x.
