A hexagon of side 1 is taken. it is circumscribed by a circle. the circle in turn is circumscribed by another hexagon. this process is repeated till there are 5 hexagons. what is the side of the largest hexagon?
Read Solution (Total 1)

- Ans=16/9.
Solution:::::
Side of hexagon =1;
This hexagon sides generate 6 triangle with side 1 at the centre of hexagon ;
Now the radius of outer circle becomes 1;
Therefore if we draw another triangle , its side=2/√3 from the formula a=(√3/2)*h where 'a' is side of triangle and 'h' is height;
Now if we doing the same process....
Third triangle a=4/√3
Fourth triangle a=8/3√3
5 th triangle a=16/9;
Draw a figure And observe carefully; - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
