Area and Volume
the two sides of a triangle are 32 and 68. the area is 960 sq.cm. find the third side of triangle

- we see 68^2-32^2=(68+32)*(68-32)=100*36=60^2
now (1/2)*60*32=960(match with given options)
(i.e area of a right angled triangle whose sides are 32,60,68)
third side=60 - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(26) No(35)
- It is not mentioned whether it is right angled triangle or not and also they did not gave the base and height then how can u assume it ?
- 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(9) No(3)
- it can also be solve heron's formula.but this will be very longer.
area=sqrt(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))=960.
where s=(a+b+c)/2.
s-> semiperimeter of triangle. - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(9)
1/2×68×32≠≠ 960
hence hypotenuse = 68m
So third side = 682−322−−−−−−−−√682−322 = 60m

- angle of triangle is 180.but by answer angle is 160.32+68+60=160
- 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(22)
- @sailesh kumar how can you assume it is right angle!!!
- 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- assume(a^2-b^2)
68^2-32^2=(68+32)*(68-32)=100*36=3600
taking sqrt root on both side
a-b=60
third side is:60
ans:60
third side=60 - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
