  7*20gm= 140gm
  and another one half of cake is of 140gm
  total 280gm.

• why not 120?
  if she has 3 pieces of 20 grams each and the other half consists of remaining 4 pieces,
  then 20*3=60 grams + 60 grams (remaining part consists of four pieces)

• the answer is (c) 240 grams. It is obvious from the question that the one half is cut in six parts, each of 20 grams weight. So, the original cake weight is (20*6)+120=240
