What is the age of teacher?
(A) There are 14 students in a class.
(B) The average age of students and teacher is 16 years.
(C) The average of 14 students is 3 less than the average age of 14 students and teacher.
1) Both (A) and (B)
2) All (A), (B) and (C)
3) Both (B) and (C)
4) Both (A) and (C)
5) None
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- 3) Both (B) and (C)
Statement (A) gives the information of number of students in a class, the same is stated in statement (C) also
If average of 14 students=x and teacher=y
From (B), (14x+y)/15= 16 or 14x + y=240 ----(i)
From (C), x= [(14x+y)/15] -3 or x- y = -45 ---(ii)
So with the help of only (B) and (C), by solving (i) & (ii), x=13, y=58, we can know the age of teacher(y) - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- Both B and C
15*16-14*13=58(age of teacher)
- 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
