(x+x+2+x+4)/3=12+(x/3)
x=15

Let central number be x. Then first number = x-2, last number = x+2.
Thus (x-2+x+x+2)/3 = 1/3(x-2) + 12
or, x = x/3 + 34/3.
x = 17.
